Stage 8 · Lesson 5 of 7
Using your background at work
Your earlier career keeps paying off after you are hired. means volunteering for tasks where it helps. You could talk to users in the industry you know, or review requirements for unrealistic assumptions.
You could write , teach a colleague about the field, or present to non-technical (people outside the tech team who have a say). This makes you valuable beyond your current technical level and gets you noticed earlier. It is often the fastest route to more responsibility too.
Common trapkeeping your background quiet at work because you want to be seen as "a real engineer", which wastes the thing that sets you apart.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
