Stage 1 · Lesson 6 of 7
Your real reason for switching
A switch takes long enough that your motivation will dip. So be honest now about why you want it. Good reasons tend to be about the work itself.
You enjoy solving problems, building things, analysing data or making tools people use. Salary alone is a weak reason. Tech pay varies hugely, pay can be modest and the first year is hard.
A weak reason is one of the quieter reasons . Your reason also becomes part of your story later, when people ask why you switched. Write it down. Then test it in the next topic by asking people what their days are really like.
Common trapswitching to escape a job you dislike, without checking whether you would enjoy the daily work in tech any more.
