Switch into tech

Stage 2 · Lesson 4 of 6

Using your degree

A target role that fits your background

A degree in another field is not wasted. Maths, physics and engineering give you the numeracy that data, and embedded roles need. Business and economics suit data analytics, product and fintech.

Biology, chemistry and medicine suit health tech and bioinformatics. Humanities and languages build writing and research skills. These are that UX research, and content roles use.

Knowing a subject deeply is a : you understand the problems a product in that field solves. Your degree also clears the filters that some employers, and visas apply. Look for "any degree" graduate schemes, and for companies that serve your field.

Common trapthinking you must start from zero and compete as if you had no education, rather than choosing a role where your degree shortens the path.

A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 2 cheat sheet entries come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
