Stage 2 · Lesson 7 of 7
Breadboard, multimeter and a first circuit
A lets you build circuits without soldering: the holes in each short row are connected underneath, and the long rails along the carry power and ground. Learn which holes connect before you plug anything in. A multimeter measures voltage, resistance and continuity (whether two points are connected); these three modes find most wiring faults.
Build a first circuit on your board: an LED with its resistor and a button with a , powered from the board, and measure the voltage across the resistor to confirm your calculation. A simulator such as Wokwi is a good rehearsal, but real parts teach you about loose .
Common trapplacing a component across the wrong rows so it is shorted, then assuming the part is faulty.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 2 cheat sheet entries come with the full roadmap. Unlock
