Stage 1 · Lesson 5 of 7
Paperwork, accounts and security basics
Around day one you will send documents, maybe open a bank account for your salary, and receive many new accounts: email, chat, code hosting and cloud consoles. Protect them from the start. Turn on (2FA) everywhere, so a login needs your phone or a key as well as your password.
Use a password manager, never reuse a personal password, and lock your screen when you step away. New joiners are a favourite target for , fake messages that try to trick you, because they do not yet know what normal internal messages look like.
If anyone urgently asks for codes, gift cards or approvals, check with that person directly. Only use personal devices for work if the company clearly allows it. The rules later in the roadmap build on this.
Common trapapproving a login prompt you did not start because a message said it was IT.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
