Stage 2 · Lesson 1 of 8
Git commits, branches and pull requests
saves snapshots of your project. You can see what changed, undo mistakes and work with other people on the same code. Learn the daily loop first: git status to see what changed, git add to pick the changes, git commit with a message that says why, and git push to send them to .
Next come branches, which are separate lines of work. Create one per feature with git switch -c add-search and commit there. Then open a on GitHub, a page where others review and test your change before it reaches main.
Learn to fix a by hand. It happens when two people change the same lines, and you will meet one in your first week of teamwork.
Common trapThe common traps are committing .env files or node_modules, so add a .gitignore on day one. Another is giant commits that mix five unrelated changes, which make review and painful.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come with the full roadmap. Unlock
