Stage 1 · Lesson 7 of 7
SLOs for the platform itself
A platform is a service too, and its users are developers. Give it they would recognise: the share of CI pipelines that start within a minute, deployments that succeed through the , availability of the Kubernetes API and the internal container registry, or the time to provision a new environment.
Publish them, so product teams know what to rely on and when to plan around you. Platform SLOs also set priorities for the , exactly as product SLOs do for product teams.
Common trapmeasuring the platform only by its own internals, such as node counts or cluster CPU, while developers wait twenty minutes for a pipeline.
