Programming foundations

Stage 6 · Lesson 1 of 8

Scoping a small project

Build and ship your first projects

Most first projects fail because they are too big, not because they are too hard. Start from a real problem that you or someone you know has. Then cut it down.

Write down the one thing it must do, the smallest version that does that, and a list of features that can wait. A good first is a (a program you run by typing in the terminal) or a small app you can finish in two or three weeks.

One example is a ledger that reads a file of spending and prints a monthly report. Break the work into five to eight , and make each one end in something that runs.

Common trapstarting with a login system, a and a web interface before the core logic works at all.

A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
