    Held in two or three rounds per cycle per campus. SAT holders are exempt for bachelors programmes; a BUET result from the last year also counts, and you may resit to improve (best result used).

How to actually get in

  • Your campus matters: BS IT is not offered at H-11, and Software Engineering and Computer Engineering are only at H-11 and Karachi. Check the programme list for the campus before you apply.
  • The computing BUET is 60% Maths and English (30% each), plus quantitative and analytical reasoning and 10% Physics, in 100 MCQs over 120 minutes with no negative marking.
  • BUET runs in two or three rounds per campus. You can resit to improve, and the best result is used. A SAT score can replace it.
  • Lahore closes later than Islamabad and Karachi (3 Sep versus 23 Jul in Fall 2026).
  • SE and CE need 60% in intermediate; CS, AI and IT need 50%.
  • Budget for one-time charges on top of semester fees: Rs. 33,000 admission fee and Rs. 25,000 refundable caution money for BS programmes.

About Bahria University

Bahria University was established by the Pakistan Navy in 2000 and is a federally chartered public sector university. Its head office and E-8 campus are on Shangrila Road, Islamabad; it also runs an H-11 campus in Islamabad, campuses in Karachi and Lahore, an Institute of Professional Psychology in Karachi, and health sciences campuses in Islamabad and Karachi. The university describes itself as offering 130+ programmes in three cities.

Computing is spread across campuses. E-8 Islamabad offers BS Computer Science, BS Artificial Intelligence, BS Information Technology and BS Computational Mathematics with AI, plus MS Computer Science, MS Cyber Security, MS Data Science and a PhD in Computer Science. H-11 Islamabad offers BS Computer Science, BS AI, Bachelor of Software Engineering, Bachelor of Computer Engineering and an Associate Degree in Computing, with MS and PhD programmes in AI, software engineering and computer engineering. Karachi offers most of the same undergraduate programmes, and Lahore offers BS CS, AI, IT and an Associate Degree in Computing.

All campuses admit through the Bahria University Entry Test (BUET), a computer-based test held in several rounds each cycle, followed by merit lists and interviews. In 2026 the university announced a Huawei ICT Academy, set up through MoUs with P@SHA and ASAL Innovations.
