Terms of Service

1. Who you are dealing with

Sefism is an independent project operated by Tauseef Fayyaz, an individual based in Lahore, Pakistan. There is no company behind it and no team. One person reads your messages and writes the replies.

Sefism is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated on behalf of any current or former employer of Tauseef Fayyaz. Employment history is stated on this site as biographical fact only. Any views expressed here are personal and do not represent any employer. Company names and trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners.

By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Sefism.

2. Who may use Sefism

You must be at least 16 years old. You must give accurate registration details, keep your login credentials to yourself, and you are responsible for what happens under your account.

One person, one account. Accounts may not be shared, sold, or transferred.

Some parts of the site are open only to members who have been let in, and some only to members an admin has granted access to. Access granted for one purpose does not carry to another, and it can be withdrawn.

3. What Sefism actually offers

Sefism provides written mentorship conversations and project feedback, booked 1:1 calls, personal roadmaps, courses and cheat sheets opened for members, build tracks and internship placements with the credentials that follow them, a curated library of learning resources, company and university directories, written articles, member profiles, and a Discord community.

It does not sell coding-interview or system-design interview preparation, does not run a coding-problem bank, and does not provide a code-execution environment or in-browser IDE.

Everything here is educational and advisory. It is guidance from one engineer’s experience, not professional, legal, financial, immigration, or employment advice, and no substitute for it.

Features come and go. Anything described here may be changed, limited or withdrawn, and nothing on the site is promised to remain available.

4. What is not promised

This matters, so it is stated plainly:

• No job, offer, interview, promotion, salary increase, or hiring outcome is guaranteed, implied, or promised.
• A referral request is exactly that, a request. A referral is made only where there is a genuine fit and a contact inside the company; none is guaranteed, and a referral is never an offer of employment.
• Replies are best-effort and personal. There is no guaranteed response time and no service-level agreement.
• A booked session is a conversation, not a deliverable. No particular advice, review, document or result is promised.
• A credential issued by Sefism records what you did here. It is not a qualification, a degree, an accreditation, or an offer of employment.
• Advice is opinion. You decide what to act on, and the consequences of acting on it are yours.
• Resources, companies, universities, jobs and internships listed here are third-party and provided for convenience. Listing something is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for it. Sefism is not the employer for any job or internship listed, does not take applications for other companies, and cannot guarantee a listing is still open: always confirm the details on the company’s own posting before you apply.

5. Credits

Credits are how you use the member area. New accounts receive a starting allowance. Sending a query or opening a project discussion, booking a session, and unlocking a roadmap or cheat sheet each spend the number of credits shown before you confirm. A roadmap or cheat sheet you unlock stays unlocked for as long as you have your account. Credits can also be earned, for example when a contribution you send to a company or university page is accepted.

• A credit is an internal allowance for using these features. It is not currency, has no cash value, and confers no ownership or stored-value rights.
• Credits are personal and non-transferable. They cannot be sold, gifted, or exchanged between accounts.
• Spending credits on a query or session buys a reply or a slot, a considered, personal answer or a real conversation. It does not buy a particular answer, a particular length, a particular timeframe, or a particular outcome.
• If a query goes unanswered because of an error on our side, the credit is restored on request.
• Credits are forfeited if you delete your account, and forfeited if your account is terminated for a breach of these terms.
• Credits may expire after a period of inactivity. If expiry is introduced, registered users will be notified in advance.

6. Booked sessions

Sessions are run on Sefism’s own calendar, and the rules are the ones shown on the booking page at the time you book. In summary:

• Taking a slot holds it and spends the credits immediately. The booking is then confirmed by hand, and you are told either way.
• A session that is not confirmed returns the credits in full.
• One live session at a time, so that slots stay available to whoever is waiting for one.
• Cancel with at least the notice shown on the page and the credits come back. Cancel inside that notice period and they do not.
• You can ask to move a session, within the limit shown on the page. A move is approved by hand and the new time has to be one the calendar is actually offering.
• Turn up. A confirmed call missed without a message is recorded as a no-show: the credits are not returned, and booking stays closed on your account until that is lifted. Email support@sefism.com if something went wrong and it will be looked at.
• Sessions are not recorded by Sefism, and you may not record one without agreement in the call first.
• Meeting links are for you. Do not forward or publish them.
• A session can be ended or declined if it is used for something other than what it is for, including abuse, recruitment, or getting work done for you.

7. Early access and student verification

Some accounts are let in through an application: as a student, or by following along on X or Instagram. Applying is not an entitlement to access, and applications are decided by hand.

• Give accurate details. A university, semester or handle that is not yours, or an address that is not yours to use, means the account is refused or removed.
• Invitation codes are personal, single-use, and expire. Do not share or sell one.
• Access granted through early access can be withdrawn if it was obtained by misrepresentation.

8. Build tracks, internships and credentials

Placements and build tracks are invite-only and unpaid unless a written agreement says otherwise. They are a structured way to build something and get it reviewed. They are not employment, an internship in the legal sense of a contract of service, or an offer of one.

• The work you submit must be your own. Passing off someone else’s work, or work produced entirely by a tool, as your own ends the placement.
• A credential is issued for work actually completed and reviewed. It records participation and what was covered, and nothing more.
• A credential can be revoked if it was obtained by misrepresentation, and its verification page will then say so.
• You can ask for a credential of yours to be taken down at any time.

9. Your content

Your profile, projects, messages, submissions and comments stay yours. You keep all ownership.

By submitting content you grant Sefism a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, and display that content strictly for the purpose of operating the platform, for example, publishing your profile at /u/your-slug once you switch it on, or showing your comment beneath an article. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

Two things work a little differently, and both are described in the Privacy Policy. Company and university entries you submit are published as site content and stay there if you leave, with nothing of yours attached to them. Questions people ask may inform a public answer in the questions library, written as an anonymous composite; your own query is never published.

Organisations can send in a job or internship to be listed. By sending one you confirm you are authorised to share it and that the details are accurate. Every listing is reviewed before it goes live, and Sefism may edit it for clarity, decline it, or remove it at any time, for example when it closes or its details can no longer be confirmed.

Ratings and reviews are private unless you tick the box that says one may be quoted.

If you invite someone into a query or project thread, you are choosing to show them that conversation. Only invite people you mean to.

You confirm you have the right to post what you post, that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights, and that it does not contain confidential information belonging to your own employer or clients. Please do not send us anything you are not free to share.

Feedback and suggestions about Sefism itself may be used freely and without compensation.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your identity, experience, education, or affiliation.
• Post unlawful, harassing, hateful, defamatory, or sexually explicit content.
• Send spam, promotional bulk messages, or recruit members for unrelated commercial purposes.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-collect member profiles or any other content.
• Probe, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or its infrastructure.
• Work around credit limits, booking limits, verification, or the bot checks on public forms.
• Upload malware, or use the platform to distribute anything harmful.
• Resell, repackage, or redistribute member-only material, including courses, cheat sheets and anything downloaded from them.

Accounts that breach these rules may be suspended or removed without notice.

11. Our content

Articles, guides, courses, cheat sheets, roadmaps, designs, code, branding and other original material on this site belong to Tauseef Fayyaz and are protected by copyright. You may read, share links, and quote briefly with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions, or use the material to train a commercial model or build a competing product, without written permission.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Account, then Security, then Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is removed and what is retained.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that is used unlawfully, or that puts the platform or its members at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will explain why.

Sefism may change, restrict, or discontinue any feature at any time.

13. Disclaimers and liability

Sefism is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result will follow from using it.

Sessions depend on third-party video and calendar services. A call that cannot go ahead will be rearranged or the credits returned, and that is the whole of the remedy for it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to Sefism is limited to USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost job offers.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, you keep every statutory right your local law gives you.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Lahore, Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-law provisions of your own country, or of your right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

Before starting formal proceedings, please email support@sefism.com. Most things are quicker to resolve directly.

15. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The date at the top will change, and material changes will be notified to registered users by email or in-app notification before they take effect. Continuing to use Sefism after that means you accept the revised terms.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
