    About this test
  • For bachelors

SAT total of 1400 or more with at least 700 in English and 700 in Math, not older than 2 years, gives a partial exemption. Science and engineering applicants must still sit the Advanced Level Mathematics and essay components.

Who can apply

  • BS Computer Science: three high school subjects including compulsory Mathematics. Matric/SSC 70% and Intermediate 70% with Mathematics; or O Level average grade B (eight subjects for Pakistan-based candidates) and A Level three principal subjects including Mathematics at average grade C; or IB Diploma 30 of 45; or a high school diploma with 70% and Mathematics.

  • BS Computer Engineering: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Computer Science. Matric/SSC 70% and HSSC 70% with those subjects; or O Level average grade B with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Computer Science, and A Level Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Computer Science at average grade C.

Admission is holistic: school grades, the entrance examination or SAT, writing, the interview and meta-curricular record all count, and the same factors decide entrance scholarships. Students from national boards (BIE, Federal Board, AKU-EB) can also apply through HU TOPS and HU EOP.

Companies that recruit from here

Each link says how the company is tied to the university and where that is published. It is not a claim that the company hires only from here, or that a degree from here guarantees an interview.

How to actually get in

  • Apply to an early test series. Round 1 for Fall 2026 opened in September 2025 with monthly test series; early test takers get a discount on the enrolment fee.
  • Send SAT scores with code 7344. A 1400 SAT with 700 in each section only gives a partial exemption; science and engineering applicants still sit the Advanced Level Mathematics and essay parts.
  • Take the HU test even if exempt. The admissions office says sitting it can raise your admissions score.
  • Prepare for the essay and interview. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed about their interests and essays, and these scores also feed scholarship decisions.
  • Apply for aid at the same time. Scholarship and financial aid forms are due with the application; at 2026-27 rates a DSSE semester is PKR 995,000 before aid.
  • National board students: look at HU TOPS (100%) and HU EOP (up to 80%).

About Habib University

Habib University was founded in 2014 in Karachi as an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences university. It teaches six majors across two schools: the Dhanani School of Science and Engineering (DSSE) and the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Every student takes the Habib Liberal Core, a common set of university core courses, alongside their major.

Computing sits in DSSE, which runs BS Computer Science and BS Computer Engineering (and BS Electrical Engineering). The university describes the CS degree as accredited by NCEAC and the Computer Engineering degree as accredited by PEC. CS students choose electives from streams such as Artificial Intelligence, Social Computing and Programming Languages, complete a two-part capstone called Kaavish, and do a Khidmat field practice module.

The university says around 85% of its students receive some form of financial assistance, and it runs HU TOPS and the Equal Opportunity Program for students from national examination boards.

Every claim here is labelled

Admission dates, tests, merit formulas and fees change every cycle, and not all of it is published in one place. Every claim here is labelled with its source and how well established it is. Treat the university's own admissions page as the last word, and tell me when something is out of date.

Nobody pays to be listed here, and nothing on this page is sponsored. Universities cannot buy a higher position or have a profile removed on request, though I will correct anything that is wrong.
