  • Fall bachelors: Advertised 13 April 2026. Last date to apply 5 May 2026, admission test 17 May 2026, classes from August 2026. Covered the main campus and all four other campuses.
  • Fall bachelors: A second round for vacant seats opened on 15 June 2026. The deadline was extended to 6 July and the test moved to 12 July 2026. The main campus Phase II advertisement listed BE Computer Systems Engineering among the open programmes.
  • Spring masters: Last date to apply 8 December 2025, SIBAU-GAT test 13 December 2025, classes from January 2026. MS Computer Science, Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence were all offered.
  • Spring phd: Advertised 8 September 2026. Forms due 20 October 2026, SIBAU-GAT test 31 October 2026. The start month is not stated; it is recorded as a spring intake because the programme is named 2027.

    MS applicants need NTS GAT-General or HEC ETS-General with at least 50%, GRE General, or the university's own SIBA-STS GAT-General. Shortlisted applicants were then called for interviews in the Spring 2026 cycle.

Undergraduate admissions run once a year for the fall, usually in two phases: a main round in April and May and a second round in June and July for seats still vacant. The same test covers the main campus and the Khairpur, Kandhkot, Mirpurkhas and Dadu campuses. Graduate admissions for MS computing programmes were held for Spring 2026.

Computing programmes and course outlines

The BS Computer Science and BS Artificial Intelligence schemas follow the HEC computing structure (computing core, domain core, domain electives, mathematics and general education) and derive their learning outcomes from the Seoul Accord graduate attributes. Sukkur IBA's advertisements list NCEAC and PEC among its accreditations but do not say which computing programmes they cover, so no programme is marked accredited here.

How to actually get in

  • Apply in the first phase. In 2026 Phase I closed on 5 May with the test on 17 May; Phase II only offered seats still vacant.
  • List up to five programmes. You are only considered for the programmes you list, in the order you list them, so put CS, SE and AI in your real order of preference.
  • Prepare for English, Maths and IQ, not Physics. The sample paper has 40 English, 40 Mathematics and 20 IQ questions, and the selected lists are published with test scores.
  • Check the smaller campuses. Khairpur, Kandhkot, Mirpurkhas and Dadu all offered BS Computer Science in 2026 through the same test, and Dadu also offered Software Engineering.
  • Pre-Medical students can take CS, SE or AI but must clear deficiency mathematics in the first year.
  • Look at the talent hunt route if fees are a barrier: the OGDC NTHP foundation semester leads to fully funded undergraduate places.

About Sukkur IBA University

Sukkur IBA was founded in 1994 by Prof. Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui as the Sukkur Institute of Business Administration, starting in rented rooms of Public School Sukkur and affiliated at first with IBA Karachi. It later received a charter from the Government of Sindh as a degree-awarding institute and became a full public sector university. The Governor of Sindh is its chancellor.

Computing is taught by the Department of Computer Science, which runs BS Computer Science, BS Software Engineering and, from Fall 2025, BS Artificial Intelligence, plus MS Computer Science, MS Software Engineering, MS Artificial Intelligence and a PhD in Computer Science. A separate department runs BE Computer Systems Engineering. The university advertises a Center of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain (CRAIB) and a Fab Lab set up with MIT.

Besides the main campus in Sukkur, the university runs campuses at Khairpur (at the Institute of Emerging Technologies), Kandhkot, Mirpurkhas and Dadu, which teach BS Computer Science, with BS Software Engineering also at Dadu. It is also known for talent hunt programmes, funded by OGDC and the Sindh government, that bring students from low-income districts through a foundation semester into its degree programmes.
