Engineering programmes (Software Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering): ETEA registration opened 16 June 2026 and engineering applications opened 7 July 2026, with merit lists into late August and September. No closing dates or class start date were found.

Engineering programmes. Marks are reduced by 10 for each extra attempt (maximum 20) and for mathematics taken as an additional subject.
Engineering programmes. For BS Computer Science and its specialisations the formula is instead 40% SSC and 60% intermediate Part I, with no test.
Who can apply
BS Computer Science and specialisations: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or erstwhile FATA domicile, and at least 50% in intermediate or DAE with mathematics, or FSc pre-medical with at least 50% (plus two extra mathematics courses in first year). No entry test.
Engineering programmes (Software Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering): at least 60% in FSc pre-engineering, ICS (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science; chemistry taken as a remedial course) or pre-medical (with an eight-week condensed mathematics programme; pre-medical capped at 40% of intake), or a relevant DAE or B.Tech, plus ETEA.
Open merit seats need KP domicile. Five seats per engineering discipline are reserved for candidates from other provinces on a non-subsidised basis, and Software Engineering at Abbottabad is open to all Pakistan nationals with priority to KP domicile.
UET Peshawar runs two separate undergraduate admissions: BS computing programmes (no test, merit from SSC and first-year intermediate) open first, around June, and B.Sc. engineering programmes follow after ETEA. Seats are split between subsidised open merit and non-subsidised self-finance, and some specialisations (such as Cyber Security at Peshawar) are self-finance only.

How to actually get in
- Computer Science does not need ETEA. Merit is 40% SSC and 60% first-year intermediate, so matric marks matter far more here than at most universities.
- Software Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering do need ETEA and use 10% SSC, 40% intermediate Part I and 50% test. Take both ETEA attempts if you can; the better one counts.
- Watch for two separate admission rounds. Computing programmes opened on 10 June 2026, engineering after ETEA in July.
- Check which seats are subsidised. At Peshawar, AI, Cyber Security, Games, IoT and Robotics seats are self-finance, while Bannu has subsidised AI seats.
- Be ready to report in person. Selected candidates must complete admission on the notified day, and later lists may only appear on the main campus notice board.
- Use only official channels. In June 2026 the university warned about a fake ETEA admission notice on social media.
About University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar
UET Peshawar started as an engineering college in 1952 and became a university in 1980. The 2026-27 undergraduate prospectus describes twenty-nine departments in four faculties, more than 10,000 students across the Peshawar, Nowshera, Abbottabad and Bannu campuses, and Centers of Excellence on the main campus that include the Center for Intelligent Systems and Networks Research and a Center for Robotics and Automation.
Computing is taught in the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Department of Computer Systems Engineering runs a B.Sc. in Computer Systems Engineering and the Peshawar B.Sc. Software Engineering, both engineering programmes admitted through the ETEA entrance test. The Department of Computer Science runs a four-year BS Computer Science with specialisation streams in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Robotics, Internet of Things and Computer Games Development; these computing programmes are exempt from the entry test and merit is worked out from SSC and first-year intermediate marks.
The Abbottabad campus (established 2002) offers Computer Science and Software Engineering, the Nowshera campus offers Computer Science with games, IoT and robotics streams, and the Bannu campus (established 2002) offers Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. At postgraduate level the university offers an MS in Computer Science and Ph.D. programmes in Computer Science and Computer Systems Engineering.
