Chapter 1 · Practice 2 of 3
Present progress at the mid evaluation and results at the final
Why it matters
The two main evaluations ask different questions:
| Mid evaluation | Final evaluation | |
|---|---|---|
| Main question | Are you on track? | Did you deliver what you promised? |
| Show | Requirements, design, core flow working end to end | All must features, testing, results, limitations |
| Demo | A working slice of the system | The full scripted demo |
| Documents | Requirements and design, often a partial report | Complete report |
At the mid evaluation, be honest about what is not done yet and show a credible plan for it. Examiners would rather see a thin feature working end to end than many screens with nothing behind them. At the final, connect everything back to the objectives in your proposal.
Do
- Show a working end-to-end slice at the mid evaluation
- Map the final presentation to your original objectives
Avoid
- Showing mock screens as if they were working features
