Stage 9 · Lesson 4 of 5
Using AI as a tutor, not an answer machine
The same tool that can make you dependent can be a patient tutor if you set the rules. Tell it you are learning, not shipping: it must not write code for you, must ask one question at a time, give hints when you are stuck and point out mistakes in your reasoning, and show a solution only when you explicitly ask.
Every topic in this roadmap has a prompt like that; save your own version as a reusable prompt. Ask conceptual questions: why does this work, what would break it, when would I choose the other approach? Ask it to quiz you after you read something.
Common trapstarting in tutor mode and drifting back to "just write it" as soon as the problem gets hard, which is exactly when the learning happens.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
