Coding with AI tools

Stage 10 · Lesson 2 of 5

A written spec and vertical slices

A real project shipped with an agent

Write a short spec in the , for example : the users, the features each with a "done when" check, the data, what is out of scope, and the commands that verify everything. It survives cleared context and new sessions, keeps the agent on track and becomes the backbone of your write-up.

Then build in : one feature at a time through every layer, database, , UI and tests, so each slice works end to end before the next begins. Each slice is a small, well-specified task, which is exactly what agents do best, and you always have something working to show. Plan each slice before building it.

Common trapbuilding layer by layer, all the database first, then all the API, and discovering at the end that the pieces do not fit.

A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 2 cheat sheet entries come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
