Stage 1 · Lesson 2 of 6
Write the requirements before you look at models
Before opening any , write six lines about your feature. Quality: what does a good answer look like, and what does a wrong one cost (an annoyed user, a lost sale, a legal problem)? Speed: does a person wait for the reply, or does it run in the background?
Volume: how many requests per day, and how many each? Context: how much text must the model see at once? Tools: does it need to call functions, return or use servers?
Privacy: can this data leave your servers, and does it have to stay in a particular country? These six answers rule most models in or out before you test anything. They also stop you choosing the most famous model by habit.
