Stage 1 · Lesson 2 of 7
SSH keys and remote access
(Secure Shell) gives you an encrypted terminal on a remote server. Instead of a password, you use a key pair: a private key that never leaves your laptop and a public key placed on the server. The server checks that you hold the private key without it ever crossing the network.
Every cloud lets you add your public key when you create a Linux VM, and some offer browser-based or managed access so you never open at all. Learn to generate a key, set its file permissions and connect with it.
Common trapsharing one private key across a team or committing it to Git, so you can never tell who logged in or remove one person's access.
