Stage 2 · Lesson 7 of 7

Identity, photo and verification

Proof without reviews

hiring a stranger online look for signs that you are real. They notice a clear photo of your face, your real name, the same description on your profile, site and LinkedIn, and a verified identity. means the platform has checked your ID.

Upwork shows an identity verified badge. Upwork also requires verification for hourly payment protection (its guarantee that tracked hours get paid) and for the Rising Talent badge. Fiverr asks sellers to verify too.

Have a valid government ID ready and use your real location, because platforms check. Verification protects you as well, since verified accounts are harder to impersonate.

Common trapusing someone else's ID, letting a relative run the account, or buying an "aged" account, all of which break platform rules and usually end with the account closed and earnings held.

A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
