Stage 2 of 8 · 7 lessons · ~3 weeks
Proof without reviews
Build the evidence a first client needs when you have no reviews: three portfolio pieces that match your service, written up as short case studies on a simple page, plus honest testimonials and clear writing.
Start: Three pieces that match your serviceLessons· one lesson for each topic, in this order
Do this
- Choose three portfolio pieces that match your service, or plan sample projects to fill gaps.
- Build at most two small sample projects, each in a week or less, labelled as samples.
- Write a case study for each piece: problem, what you did, result, link or screenshots.
- Publish a one-page portfolio with your service, case studies, bio, photo and contact.
- Do one real piece of work for a society, family business or open source project and ask for a testimonial.
- Rewrite your bio and case studies for a non-technical reader.
- Prepare a valid ID and a clear photo for platform verification.

Also worth your time
Before moving on: A live one-page portfolio with three case studies that match your service (samples clearly labelled), a short bio and photo, and at least one honest testimonial or a plan to earn one this month.

Nobody hires a freelancer with no reviews because of their skills list. They hire because they opened something you built and it looked like what they need. Three relevant, finished pieces with a short write-up each will do more for you than any certificate.
