Stage 2 · Lesson 7 of 7
One small next step
After the first day or two, do one small thing that moves you forward, however minor. Reply to an email, tidy your study desk, open the result and read it properly, or write down what you know so far. Psychologists call the idea behind this behavioural activation: action often comes before motivation, not after it.
A small step reminds you that you can still act, which weakens the feeling of being stuck. It does not have to be about the setback itself.
Common trapwaiting to feel ready, or choosing a huge first step like "fix my whole career this weekend", failing at it and feeling worse.
