Remote jobs

Stage 1 · Lesson 5 of 8

Time zone overlap you can actually give

Are you ready for remote?

Most remote teams ask for a few hours of overlap with their , the part of the day when everyone is online for meetings and quick questions. Work out the real numbers. Karachi is nine hours ahead of New York in summer.

So four hours of overlap with a New York team means working until about 9 pm or later. Lagos shares working hours with London for much of the year. Manila overlaps well with Sydney and Singapore.

Decide what you can keep up for years, not weeks. Count family, power supply and commute, especially if you also study or work locally. Your number of overlap hours decides which listings you apply to in the next stage.
