What it is

World Time Buddy describes itself as "a convenient world clock, a time zone converter, and an online meeting scheduler" for comparing multiple time zones at a glance (source: worldtimebuddy.com, as of 2026-09). You add the cities you care about and see their hours lined up in rows, so you can pick a slot that works for everyone.

Why it matters for remote work

Remote jobs live and die on time zones. You use this kind of tool three times on the remote jobs roadmap:

  1. Before applying: to see how many hours of overlap you can really give a target region, and how late or early that makes your day.
  2. During hiring: to check an interviewer's proposed time against your own, including daylight saving changes, before you confirm.
  3. Once hired: to plan meetings with teammates spread across several zones.

Free vs paid

The site says signing in to save settings is free. The core converter and planner are free to use. It also offers calendar integrations, widgets, a mobile app and a browser extension.

How to use it well

  • Add your city and the two or three cities your target teams are in.
  • Look at the full week: some regions change clocks for daylight saving on different dates, which shifts your overlap.
  • When confirming a meeting, write both times in your message, for example "15:00 London, 19:00 Karachi".
  • Use its sharing feature, or a calendar invitation, so the other side sees the time in their own zone.

Time needed

Five minutes to set up; seconds each time after.

Common questions

Why not do the arithmetic myself? Daylight saving and half-hour zones catch people out. A tool avoids expensive mistakes.

Does it replace a calendar? No. Always accept the calendar invitation so the event shows in your local time.

Is there a paid tier? The page does not show one for the core features.
