India, Bangladesh and other countries
Every country has its own version of the chain, but the shape is similar. First, the university or an education authority confirms the degree. Then the attests or it for use abroad.
In India, the Ministry of External Affairs issues apostilles and , usually after the degree is verified at state or university level, and India has been a member of the since 2005. Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention in March 2025, so check whether the new apostille route now replaces the older attestation steps for your destination.
Nigerian, Egyptian and Kenyan graduates follow their own education ministry and foreign ministry steps.
