Sefism 1:1 Mentorship

What is on offer

Sessions are free and open to approved Sefism members. You create a free account, get approved, then book from your dashboard. The sessions:

• 1:1 Mentorship (45 minutes): a focused call on whatever is blocking you, such as the job hunt, a promotion case, choosing between offers or deciding what to learn next. You bring the situation and leave with a plan.
• Fresh Graduate Mentorship (30 minutes): for final-year students and engineers in their first two years: what to learn in what order, which projects are worth building, how to present yourself with little experience, and how to get past the first screening.
• Career Guidance (60 minutes): a close read of how you present yourself, your profile, wording and positioning, with an honest view of where you are against where you want to be, and written feedback you can act on.
• Personal Branding (60 minutes): how to build an audience as an engineer without becoming a content machine: what to post, how to write it and how to keep it sustainable alongside a full-time job.
• LinkedIn Optimization (45 minutes): your headline, about section, experience and the signals recruiters filter on, so you know what to change and why.

Why a conversation rather than an article

Advice published for a general audience is written for the average reader, and nobody is average. You have a specific stack, a specific market and a specific set of constraints. Which of two options is the mistake for you is not a question an article can answer.

How booking works

Sessions run alongside a full-time engineering job, so only a handful of slots open each week. You pick a time on the calendar in your dashboard, and the booking is confirmed with a meeting link and calendar invite. If something comes up, you can cancel or move a booking from your bookings page with enough notice. A no-show without notice takes a slot from someone waiting and ends future bookings.

How to get the most from a session

• Bring the actual thing: the profile, the offer, the repository, the deadline. A prepared half hour is worth more than a vague hour.
• Book one, act on it, then come back when you have tried the plan, rather than booking a run of slots in advance.
• If it helped, say so honestly on LinkedIn, so the next person with the same problem can find their way here.

What it is not

It is not a service that builds anything for you. For final-year projects, the help is with choosing and scoping an idea, not doing the work.

Common questions

Is it really free? Yes. Nothing is charged for any session. Like other member actions, a booking uses a few Sefism credits, which keep the limited slots fair for people actively using them. The other asks are preparation, respect for the slot and honest feedback.

Do I need to be a member? Yes. Sessions are for approved Sefism members, and the same account gives you roadmaps, cheat sheets and the question library.

Best for: engineers stuck on a decision, and students who want to spend their final year on the right things.
