How to actually get in

  • ITU runs more than one admission round for Fall. In 2026 a second round opened on 20 July and closed on 5 August, so check the admissions calendar even if you missed the first deadline.
  • You may not need ITU's own test: BS CS and BS AI accept SAT I (550 in each section) or HEC USAT (50%), and BS SE and CE accept ECAT, NTS NAT or USAT. Upload the result card on the portal by the stated deadline.
  • For BS CS and AI, your Matric and Inter marks count for half of merit, so board results matter as much as the test.
  • Pre-Medical students can apply to CS, AI and SE but must pass 6 extra credit hours of foundation maths in the first year.
  • Fees are fixed per semester for your intake with about 5% yearly increases; the Fall 2026 BS first semester is PKR 211,300.

About Information Technology University of the Punjab

The Information Technology University of the Punjab was established under the Information Technology University of the Punjab Act 2012 (Act LIV of 2012), which set it up with its campus in Lahore. ITU says it came into being in 2012 to advance scholarship and innovation in science, technology and engineering, with a focus on cross-disciplinary applied research, close ties with the ICT industry and a structure that combines features of public and private universities.

For most of its history ITU has taught from the Arfa Software Technology Park on Ferozepur Road, where the admissions office is and where the admission tests are held. It is building a main campus on Barki Road in Lahore, where the 2026 job fair was held.

Computing is spread across departments: Computer Science runs BS CS, BS AI, MS CS, MS Data Science, MS Cybersecurity and PhD CS, while the Department of Computer and Software Engineering runs BS Software Engineering and BS Computer Engineering. ITU says its Department of Computer Science holds the NCEAC "W" category, and NCEAC's record lists accredited BS CS batches from 2013 to Fall 2022.

Every claim here is labelled

Admission dates, tests, merit formulas and fees change every cycle, and not all of it is published in one place. Every claim here is labelled with its source and how well established it is. Treat the university's own admissions page as the last word, and tell me when something is out of date.

Nobody pays to be listed here, and nothing on this page is sponsored. Universities cannot buy a higher position or have a profile removed on request, though I will correct anything that is wrong.
