What it costs

Free to book. Not free to give.

Money was never the point of this, so every session is free. The thing I cannot make more of is hours: these calls happen around a full-time engineering job, on evenings and weekends. So there is no fee, and there are four things I ask instead.

01

A few slots each week

This runs alongside a full-time engineering job, so only a handful of slots open every week. When they are taken, the next ones open the following week.

02

Come with the specifics

Bring the actual thing: the profile, the offer, the repo, the deadline. A prepared 30 minutes is worth more than a vague hour, and that preparation is the real price of the session.

03

One session at a time

Book one, act on it, then come back when you have tried the plan. Booking a run of slots in advance takes them from people who are waiting for one.

04

Write it up afterwards

Nothing is owed in money. If a session helped, post honestly about it on LinkedIn: what you were stuck on, what changed, and tag me and Sefism so the next person stuck on the same thing finds their way here. An honest review on Topmate and an answer to someone in the Discord do the same job. That is the whole fee.

If something comes up, cancel or reschedule on Topmate at least 12 hours ahead and that is completely fine. A no-show without a word takes a slot from someone who was waiting for it, and it means no future bookings.

How it works

From stuck to shipping, without the noise.

01

Start with where you are

Tell me what you’re building toward: first job, senior role, switching to AI, growing an audience. I’ll meet you at that point, not a generic curriculum.

02

Get a focused plan

Together we map the next 30 to 90 days: what to learn, what to ship, what to ignore. Real outcomes (jobs, products, income) over busywork.

03

Grow with a community behind you

You stay accountable in the growing Sefism Discord, while I keep sharing what works across AI, full-stack, and system design with my 90K+ LinkedIn community.

Which one you need

Every session solves a different problem.

You have seen what each one is. Here is the case for each: who it is for, what it actually fixes, and why it is worth doing now rather than in six months. All of them are free, so the only thing to weigh is which one you actually need.

1:1 Mentorship

45 min

Advice on the internet is written for the average reader, and you are not average: you have a specific stack, a specific market, and a specific set of constraints. This is the session for the decision you have been going back and forth on for weeks: which offer, whether to switch, what to learn next. You leave with the call made rather than more options to weigh.

02

Fresh Graduate Mentorship

30 min

The first job is the hardest one to get, and it got harder: the routine implementation fresh graduates used to be hired for is the work AI now does best. What replaced it is judgement about what to build and how to talk about it. Half an hour here is mostly insurance against spending your final year on the wrong things.

Career Guidance

60 min

You cannot read your own profile the way a recruiter does. You know what you meant; they only see what is on the page. Rejections are silent, so nobody ever tells you which line lost you the screen. This is the hour of missing feedback, from someone who reads engineers professionally rather than guessing alongside you.

Book a review
04

Personal Branding

60 min

Opportunities increasingly arrive because someone already knows your work, not because you applied. Building that does not mean becoming a full-time creator. It means a sustainable habit and knowing which of the things you already do is worth publishing. We work out what that looks like next to a full-time job, not instead of one.

Book a session
05

LinkedIn Optimization

45 min

Recruiters filter before they read, and most engineers lose there without ever seeing it happen. Your headline, about section, and the wording of your experience decide whether you appear in the search at all. It is the cheapest fix on this list because nothing about your actual work has to change.

What stood out for me is that you took your time to really understand my educational background, where I'm currently at and able to determine what's missing. The session time was meant to be 45 minutes, but we took roughly about an hour discussing how best you can assist me achieve my career goals. Looking forward to having more sessions.

Frequently asked

Common questions about Sefism & mentorship

How do I book a mentorship session with Tauseef Fayyaz?

Every session is booked through Topmate, which handles the calendar and the reminders. Pick the session that matches what you need, choose a slot, and it is confirmed immediately. Nothing is charged, and nothing is sold on sefism.com itself.

Who are these mentorship sessions for?

Final-year students and fresh graduates trying to break into the industry, mid-level engineers building a promotion case or planning their next move, and career-switchers moving into product companies. Hundreds of engineers so far, across personal branding, LinkedIn strategy, technical depth, and career planning.

What happens in a 1:1 session?

You bring the situation that is actually blocking you: the job hunt, a promotion case, choosing between offers, or what to learn next. We leave with a concrete plan. Sessions typically run 45 minutes and often overrun when there is more to work through. The more specific you are at the start, the further we get.

Can you give feedback on my profile and positioning?

Yes. Career guidance covers your LinkedIn profile, how your experience is worded, and positioning: an honest read on where you are versus where you want to be. You get written feedback you can act on rather than generic advice.

Do you build or sell final-year projects?

No. The FYP ideas library helps you choose an idea that is achievable, scope it sensibly, and pick a stack, and a mentorship session covers it when you get stuck building it. Ideas and direction only. I do not build, write, or sell final-year projects, and I do not complete coursework for anyone.

How much does mentorship cost?

Nothing. Every session on Topmate is free: 1:1 mentorship, fresh graduate mentorship, career guidance, LinkedIn optimisation, personal branding, and priority DMs. The resources library, blog and FYP idea library are free too, and always will be.

Why are the sessions free?

Because the advice that moved my own career was given to me for nothing, and a price tag filters out exactly the students and early-career engineers who need the conversation most. The sessions are limited rather than priced: a few slots each week, kept for people who turn up prepared.

If the sessions are free, what do you ask in return?

Four things. Come with the specific thing you are stuck on rather than a general question. Book one session at a time and act on it before booking the next. Cancel or reschedule at least 12 hours ahead if something comes up, because a no-show takes a slot from someone who was waiting. And afterwards, if it helped, write an honest post on LinkedIn about what changed and tag me and Sefism, so the next person stuck on the same thing can find their way here. An honest Topmate review and helping someone in the Discord count just as much.

What happens if I miss a booked session?

Cancel or reschedule on Topmate at least 12 hours ahead and that is completely fine, no explanation needed. A no-show with no message means the slot is lost for the week and for whoever was waiting on it, and it means no future bookings.

What if I only have a quick question?

Use Priority DM on Topmate. It is free like everything else. Send the question over and get a considered written reply within two days, rather than waiting in a DM queue that genuinely cannot be kept up with. If it turns out to need a proper conversation, the shortest session is 30 minutes.
