What it is
Awesome DevRel is a GitHub repository in the "awesome list" tradition, curated by the DevRel Collective, a community of people who work in developer relations. It gathers links to resources about the field: books, blog posts, talks, podcasts, newsletters, tools, conferences and communities, grouped by topic such as community, content, events, metrics and career.
The repository is licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0. As of 2026-09 it had about 761 stars on GitHub, and its most recent update was in 2025.
Why it is useful
When you are new to DevRel it is hard to know which writers and speakers to follow. A community-curated list gives you a starting set chosen by practitioners rather than by search engine ranking. It is particularly handy for finding books on community management and writing on DevRel metrics, which are harder to find than content creation advice.
How to use it
- Skim the table of contents and pick one section that matches your weakest area, such as community or metrics.
- Read two or three linked resources from that section, and note the date of each. DevRel practices and tools change, and some links will be old or broken.
- Add the few people or newsletters you find most useful to your regular reading.
- If you find a broken link or a strong new resource, a pull request to the list is a small, real open source contribution.
Limits
Curated lists age. Updates are irregular, some tools listed may no longer exist, and community tools in particular have come and gone. Treat it as a directory, not a course, and check that anything you plan to rely on is still maintained.
Prerequisites
None. A GitHub account is only needed to star it or contribute.
Free vs paid
The list is free. Some linked books and events are paid; the list does not always say so.
Common questions
Is the DevRel Collective worth joining? It runs a community for DevRel practitioners; check its site for current joining details. Many beginners find local meetups and the communities of the products they use just as valuable.
Is this better than roadmap.sh's DevRel roadmap? They do different jobs. The roadmap shows what to learn in order; this list points to deeper reading on each area.

Stuck on something specific?
Writing only gets you so far. If you want an answer to your situation rather than the general case, book a session and we will work through it together. Sessions are free for approved Sefism members, and a few slots open each week.
