The collection has handbooks for five large technology employers:

What a guide contains

Each handbook explains what to expect and how to prepare. The Amazon guide, for example, covers:

• The overall process: resume review, online assessment, phone screen and the interview loop, followed by a debrief that decides the result
• The phone interview: typically one or two data structures and algorithms questions
• The onsite loop: several interviews covering coding, design and behavioural questions, with object-oriented design for junior candidates and system design for senior candidates
• Commonly asked questions and how to approach them
• Resources for each part of the preparation

The other guides follow a similar structure for their companies.

Why company-specific preparation helps

Core skills transfer between companies, but emphasis does not. One company weighs its behavioural round heavily and expects stories tied to its principles; another focuses on coding depth. Some ask object-oriented design at junior levels; others go straight to system design. Knowing which you are walking into changes how you spend your remaining time and how you use each interview slot.

How to use it well

1. Read your target company's guide as soon as the interview is scheduled. Note the rounds and what each assesses.
2. Adjust emphasis, not your whole plan. Spend more time on the round types that company stresses, but do not start large new topics in the last week.
3. Prepare behavioural stories in the style the guide describes for that company.
4. Re-read the guide a day or two before the interview as a final checklist.
