CSS for JavaScript Developers

Teaches CSS as a system with rules you can reason about, aimed at developers who are strong in JavaScript and treat CSS as guesswork. Expensive, and it fixes a problem a lot of competent engineers quietly have.

The problem it addresses

A large number of capable JavaScript developers cannot reliably centre a thing, and deal with layout by trying properties until something works. That is not a knowledge gap about syntax; it is a missing mental model of how the layout algorithms decide anything.

What it teaches

The rendering model properly: the cascade and inheritance, the box model, the separate layout algorithms for flow, positioned, flexbox and grid, then responsive design, animation and typography. Everything is interactive, with exercises and workshop projects.

On the price

It is one of the more expensive courses in this library and there is regional pricing. Whether it is worth it depends entirely on how often CSS costs you an afternoon, which for many developers is often enough to justify it.

Best for: experienced JavaScript developers who avoid CSS work.
