Design Gurus Interview Coaching
A roster of interview coaches with backgrounds at companies such as Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Snap, Cloudflare and Goldman Sachs, each bookable for coding, system design or broader interview and career coaching. You choose your coach from their profile rather than being assigned one. It suits candidates who want a coach matched to a specific company, level or weakness before a real interview loop.

What it is
A coaching service where you pick an individual coach from a list of profiles. As of September 2026 the coaches page lists eight coaches, including:
- A tech lead with Meta, Microsoft and Hulu experience who authored the platform's Grokking courses
- A co-founder of the platform and former senior development lead at Meta and Microsoft
- A senior software engineer at Microsoft
- A principal software engineer and tech lead in machine learning
- An engineer with Meta, Amazon and Goldman Sachs experience
- A software engineer at Snap who previously worked at Amazon and runs large-company mock interviews
- A staff software engineer at Cloudflare
Each profile shows which of three areas the coach covers: coding, system design and coaching (interview strategy and career guidance).
Price and format
Sessions are about 60 minutes, online. The platform's mock interview page (September 2026) lists one-to-one coaching sessions at $149 with an interviewer from a large tech company, or $215 with an interviewer from your target company, each shown as a discount from a higher list price, with a satisfaction money-back guarantee. Coaching sessions can cover data structures and algorithms or system design doubts, preparing for real interview scenarios, job search strategy and offer negotiation.
Why choosing the coach matters
Interview processes differ between companies, and so does what each one rewards. A coach who has interviewed at the company you are targeting can tell you what that loop weighs, how the levels differ and which answers land, information you will not find in general preparation material.
How to book usefully
- Match the background to your target, not just seniority. If you are interviewing at Meta for an infrastructure role, pick a coach with that background.
- Match the area to your weakest round: a system design coach for design-heavy senior loops, a coding coach if you freeze on live problems.
- Arrive with a specific artefact: a design you produced, a problem you failed, a recording or a written account of a rejection. Specific input gets specific feedback.
- Work through the relevant course first, for example Grokking the System Design Interview before a system design coaching session, so the session goes further.
- Book a mock interview afterwards to test the changes under realistic conditions.
Best for: candidates who want a coach matched to a specific company, level or weakness.
