What the channel covers
Gate Smashers is one of the biggest computer science teaching channels in India, and it teaches in Hindi, which most Urdu speakers in Pakistan follow comfortably. The channel describes itself as providing complete lectures for B.Tech CSE, GATE CSE, UGC NET CS and similar exams, covering DSA, operating systems, DBMS, computer networks, theory of computation, compiler design, software engineering and programming. Videos are short and focused on one concept at a time, with examples written out step by step.
Playlists worth knowing
Alongside the core subject lectures named above, the channel has complete playlists that are useful for degree courses and electives:
- SQL Full Course, plus quick SQL Shorts Series for revision.
- C++ Programming (Complete Course) and Python Programming course (With execution).
- Computer Graphics (Complete Playlist), Microprocessor and Data Warehouse & Data Mining.
- Linear Algebra (Complete Playlist) and Probability and Statistics (Complete Playlist) for the maths behind data and AI courses.
- Machine Learning, Deep Learning (ANN, RNN, Tranformers, RNN), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision (Complete Course) and Big Data (Complete Playlist).
- Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking.
Who it suits
Students in Pakistan and India taking BSCS, BS IT or B.Tech courses, especially in the weeks before mid-terms and finals. It is also a good refresher for graduates who forgot how normalisation, scheduling algorithms or subnetting work. It is exam-oriented by design, so it explains concepts clearly but does not build real projects.
How to learn from it without getting stuck in tutorial loops
Short concept videos make it tempting to watch twenty in a row. Instead:
- Watch one topic, then solve two or three questions on it from your course or past papers without looking back.
- Keep a single notebook per subject where every topic gets a short summary in your own words.
- Move from theory to practice: after the DBMS and SQL videos, design and query a small database; after the operating systems videos, write a tiny program that creates processes or threads.
- Use the English textbook for the subject to check depth, for example Operating Systems: Three Easy Pieces for OS.
Pair it with on Sefism
- The CS core subjects roadmap and its cheat sheet cover the same subjects with an order of study and the practical side.
- The SQL and databases roadmap and cheat sheet go further with real database work.
- The University to job-ready roadmap shows how to turn coursework into skills employers notice.
- CS50: Introduction to Computer Science and Computer Networking: A Top-Down Approach (Video Lectures) are strong English companions.
Best for: Hindi and Urdu speaking CS students who want core subjects explained clearly before exams.
