n8n Community Forum
The official n8n forum, where users ask and answer questions about workflows, nodes, expressions, self-hosting and errors, and share what they build. Searching it first solves most error messages, and answering questions there is a practical way to build skill and visibility.

What it is
The n8n Community Forum is the official discussion site for n8n users. It has categories for questions, feature requests, announcements and workflows people want to share. n8n staff and experienced community members answer questions about nodes, expressions, the Code node, credentials, self-hosting, Docker, queue mode, AI features and specific error messages.
Why it is worth your time
n8n changes quickly, and many problems you hit have already been solved by someone else on a similar version. Searching the forum for an exact error message usually finds a thread with the cause and a fix faster than any other route. For self-hosting questions, such as reverse proxies, webhooks behind HTTPS or database settings, the forum often has setups that the documentation does not cover in detail.
It is also useful for your career. Answering questions forces you to understand n8n deeply, and helpful, consistent answers make your name known to people who later need someone to build or fix workflows.
How to use it well
- Search before posting, using the exact error text and node name.
- When you ask, include your n8n version, whether you are on Cloud or self-hosted, what you expected, what happened, and a sample of the data with personal details removed.
- Share workflow JSON only after removing credentials and any customer data.
- When a reply solves your problem, mark it as the solution so others find it.
Free versus paid
The forum is free. It is not a support contract: answers depend on volunteers and staff time, so for time-critical client issues, paid n8n plans include official support.
Things to watch
Forum answers can be outdated for your version, so check the date and test suggestions in a copy of your workflow. Be careful with unsolicited offers of paid help received privately; keep any work arrangements in writing and never share client credentials.
Common questions
Can beginners post? Yes. Clear questions with context get the best answers.
Can I find clients there? Indirectly. Being consistently helpful builds a reputation, but hard selling in threads is unwelcome.
Is it the same as the n8n Discord or subreddit? No, this is the official forum and the most searchable archive.

Stuck on something specific?
Writing only gets you so far. If you want an answer to your situation rather than the general case, book a session and we will work through it together. Sessions are free for approved Sefism members, and a few slots open each week.
