Net Ninja (YouTube channel)
Over two thousand free programming tutorials, organised into tidy multi-part crash courses: modern JavaScript, Node.js, React, Vue, Firebase, MongoDB, Laravel, React Native, Flutter, testing, Git and, more recently, AI coding tools. Each series builds one thing step by step in short episodes. It suits beginners and developers who want a structured, bite-sized introduction to a new tool.

What the channel covers
Net Ninja is one of the most organised teaching channels on YouTube. The channel lists its range itself: modern JavaScript from beginner to advanced, Node.js, React, Vue.js, Firebase, MongoDB, HTML and CSS, PHP and MySQL, Laravel, React Native, Flutter, SolidJS, and AI and agentic coding.
The format is the multi-part series. Instead of one three-hour video, a topic is split into short numbered lessons, each doing one job. That makes it easy to pick up where you left off and easy to find the one lesson you need later.
Series to start with
- Git Crash Course: version control from the start, before anything else.
- Unit Testing Crash Course: a practical first look at testing.
- Firebase Crash course: a quick way to get authentication and a database behind a frontend.
- Complete React Native Course and React Native with Firestore: mobile apps with JavaScript.
- Astro Crash Course and Alpine.js Crash Course: lighter alternatives to big frameworks.
- Laravel with HTMX Tutorial, Django with HTMX Tutorial and Livewire 3 Crash Course: server-rendered apps with a little interactivity.
- Redis Stack Tutorial: caching and data structures for back ends.
- Claude Code Tutorial, Coding with AI (Copilot) Tutorial, Gemini CLI Tutorial and Spec Driven Coding with Claude Code: using AI coding tools in a real workflow.
Older series cover many other frameworks too, so search the channel before buying a course on a mainstream web tool.
Who it suits
Beginners who like clear structure, students who want to learn a framework over a week of short sessions, and working developers trying out a new tool. The tone is friendly and patient, and the pace is steady rather than rushed.
How to learn without getting stuck in tutorial loops
- One series at a time. Finish a series, then build something of your own with it before you start the next one.
- Pause at the end of each lesson and add one small feature that was not in the video.
- Use AI tool series carefully. Watch them after you can build the same thing by hand, so you can review what the tool writes.
- Keep a notes file per series with commands, gotchas and links to the official docs.
Pair it with on Sefism
- For order and scope, use the Frontend development roadmap, Backend development roadmap or Mobile development roadmap, with their frontend, backend and mobile cheat sheets.
- The Git material pairs well with the Linux, terminal and Git roadmap and Learn Git Branching.
- The AI tools series fit the Coding with AI tools roadmap; read the Claude Code Documentation as you go.

Stuck on something specific?
Writing only gets you so far. If you want an answer to your situation rather than the general case, book a session and we will work through it together. Sessions are free for approved Sefism members, and a few slots open each week.
