What it is
An open source collection of questions for one to one meetings, organised by intent: getting to know someone, career development, feedback, team health, motivation and difficult conversations.
Why a question list helps more than it should
One to ones fail in a predictable way. Neither person has prepared, the conversation becomes a status update, and it quietly stops being useful. Arriving with two good questions changes the meeting entirely, and the difficulty is only ever remembering what to ask.
Useful in both directions
Managers use it to run better one to ones. People being managed use it to make the meeting worth their own time, which is the version almost nobody thinks of. If your one to ones are status reports, pick two questions from here and change that.
Best for: new managers, mentors, and anyone whose one to ones have gone flat.
