What changed
React's documentation was rewritten around hooks and modern patterns, and the result is much closer to a curriculum than a reference. There is a learn track with interactive examples and challenges, and a separate reference section.
The parts that matter most
Thinking in React, and the state management chapters. Most React problems are state design problems: state duplicated in two places, state that should have been derived, state lifted to the wrong component. These sections address that directly and almost nothing else does.
Why start here rather than a course
It is free, it is written by the people who build the library, and it is current. Paid courses add depth on specific topics and ecosystem choices, which is a better second purchase than a first one.
Best for: anyone learning React, and any React developer who last read the documentation before the rewrite.
