What it is

A skill map for infrastructure and operations work, from operating system and networking fundamentals through containers, orchestration, infrastructure as code, pipelines, monitoring and cloud providers.

What it makes clear

That DevOps is not a tool list. The map puts Linux, networking and scripting at the base, which is the correct order and the one people skip when they start with a container tutorial and never learn what a namespace is. Tools change every few years; those foundations do not.

How to use it

Depth over breadth, and start at the bottom. Being genuinely comfortable with Linux and networking makes every tool above easier to learn, whereas knowing three orchestrators shallowly helps with none of them.

Best for: developers moving toward infrastructure, and anyone whose operations knowledge is a set of copied commands.
