What it is
Zapier Templates is Zapier's catalogue of pre-built workflows. As of 2026-09 the page groups them by use case, including lead management, sales pipeline, marketing campaigns, customer support, data management, project management, and tickets and incidents, with collections such as revenue operations, marketing, AI, forms and human resources starter kits, and templates for Tables, Forms, Chatbots and Agents. Each template sets up a Zap, and sometimes Tables or Forms, that you connect to your own apps.
Why it is useful
Templates show how common business workflows are usually structured: which trigger to use, which search step comes before a create, how leads are routed and how notifications are formatted. For learning, the useful routine is:
- Turn a template on in a test account and run it with sample data.
- Read each step's settings and the data in Zap history.
- Rebuild it yourself from a blank Zap.
- Improve it with filters, duplicate protection, error handling and better formatting.
That last step is where you show judgement to a client.
Limitations
Templates are starting points built for the common case. They often assume clean data, may use more tasks than necessary, and rarely include error handling or duplicate checks. Review every step and every permission before using one for a client, and estimate its task usage on the client's plan.
Free versus paid
Browsing is free. Running templates uses your Zapier plan: as of 2026-09 the free plan allows two-step Zaps and 100 tasks a month, while many templates use multi-step Zaps, Paths or webhooks that need a paid plan.
Common questions
Can I use templates in client work? Yes, but you are responsible for how they behave, so test with realistic data first.
Do templates include the connected accounts? No, you connect your own or the client's accounts.
Are templates better than building from scratch? For learning patterns, they are a good start. For client work, a template is a first draft, not a finished workflow.
