Labels in billing data
On Google Cloud, are the key-value pairs that appear in and the BigQuery export, and project labels apply to all costs in that project. Labels have format rules: lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores. Google Cloud also has a separate feature called tags, used mainly for policy, so be clear which one you mean.
GKE can add labels to the detailed export through cost allocation. Apply labels from and check for missing ones in CI.
Common traprelying on resource labels alone when a would have split most of the cost with no effort.
