Freelancing

Stage 8 · Lesson 6 of 8

Deepening your niche

Growing your practice

After a handful of projects, look at which ones went best. Which did you enjoy? Which work did you deliver fastest, and which results are you proudest of?

Narrow or adjust your towards them. Invest in skills that make that service more valuable, such as performance, (making work usable by everyone, including disabled people), connecting to other tools, or data. A deeper niche lets you reuse components, templates and knowledge.

You deliver faster and can charge more, because you look like the specialist. Update your storefront and case studies to match. You can still take other work now and then.

Common trapdrifting into any job that comes along until your profile looks generic again and you are back to competing on price.

A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
