Stage 1 · Lesson 6 of 7
Checking you are allowed to freelance
Before you earn anything, check your : the rules that apply to you. Platforms have age and identity rules. Fiverr requires you to be 18 to withdraw earnings, and both Upwork and Fiverr check your identity.
If you study abroad, many limit paid work, and that can include remote freelancing. Read your own visa conditions, not a friend's summary. If you have a job, read your contract.
Look for rules on outside work, on keeping company information private, and on who owns anything you create. Some countries also expect you to register freelance income or a business. These checks take about an hour. They prevent problems that no project is worth.
Common trapassuming it is fine because friends do it, then losing a visa, a job or an account over a small project.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
