Stage 2 · Lesson 3 of 8

Bullets that show results with numbers

Your resume

Write : each one says what you did and what changed because of it. The pattern is an action verb, the work, then the result. "Responsible for the payments " only describes a duty.

"Cut of the payments API from 800 ms to 200 ms for 2M daily requests" shows impact and scale. Here p99 latency is the time within which 99 percent of requests finish. Numbers make a claim concrete.

Aim for at least half your bullets to include one: time saved, users served, errors reduced, money earned or size of data. Put your strongest bullet first in each role, because recruiters read only the first one or two.

Common traplisting technologies instead of outcomes, or inventing numbers you cannot explain when a round asks how you measured them.
