Layoffs and AI: stay hard to cut, bounce back if it happens

Stage 3 · Lesson 3 of 7

Make your impact easy to see

Be hard to cut at work

Layoff lists are often drawn up quickly, sometimes by people above your manager who have never seen your work. What they see is what is written down: reviews, project updates, names on launches, numbers in reports. So make your impact easy to see without bragging.

Keep a , a running list of what you did, the result and the proof, updated every week. Send your manager a short monthly update: what shipped, what changed, what is blocked. Share a short write-up when you fix something that other teams also suffer from. This is the same work that gets people promoted, so it pays off whether or not cuts come.

Common trapbelieving good work speaks for itself. In a fast decision, quiet good work and no work can look the same.

A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 2 cheat sheet entries come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
