Stage 2 · Lesson 7 of 8
EtherChannel with LACP
bundles several physical links into one logical port channel. Traffic is spread across the members by a of addresses, a single link failure only reduces capacity, and spanning tree sees one link instead of blocking all but one.
LACP (link aggregation control ) is the open standard that negotiates the bundle; set members to mode active on at least one side. Every member must match in speed, , and trunk settings, and you configure trunking on the port channel interface, not the members. Check with show etherchannel summary, where a P flag means a member is bundled.
Common trapexpecting one big file transfer to use all the links: a single flow always follows one member, so the gain comes from many flows.
