Speaking and being heard

Stage 5 · Lesson 6 of 6

Follow up within two days

Small talk and networking events

The real value of an event often comes from the follow-up. Within two days, send a short message to the people you talked to: remind them where you met, mention something from your conversation and, if there is one, a simple next step. "Hi Ayesha, we spoke after the Flutter talk on Saturday about clinic apps.

Thanks for the tip on offline sync. Would you be open to a short chat next month about how your team tests releases?" Keep it short and do not ask for a job in the first message.

The Personal branding roadmap at /roadmaps/personal-branding/ covers LinkedIn follow-up in more depth.

Common trapcollecting contacts and never writing to any of them.

A question to check yourself and an AI practice session come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
