Stage 2 · Lesson 5 of 6
Blue Cards and work permits elsewhere in the EU
The exists in most EU countries, but each country sets its own , processing and extra national routes, and Denmark and Ireland do not take part (Ireland has its own permits). The Netherlands, for example, also runs a national highly skilled migrant scheme through recognised sponsors, and many countries have national work permits alongside the Blue Card.
If you target a city outside Germany, read that country's official immigration site rather than assuming German rules apply. After some time on a Blue Card, the EU rules make it easier to move to another EU country, under conditions.
Common trapreading a Blue Card threshold for one country and applying it to an offer in another.
