Where to apply

Add to the Muhammad Ali Jinnah University page

This page is only as good as what students who have been through it are willing to share. Universities publish the rules, but not how the test felt, where merit closed or how long the wait for a list was. One account from someone who applied is worth more than anything I can find online.

What are you adding?

This decides how the claim is labelled on the page. Only someone representing the university can produce an “official” label, and I check that separately.

Year and month.

Comma separated topics, not the questions themselves.

Dates, the test format, where merit closed and how long each step took are the parts nobody else publishes.

  • Fall bachelors: MAJU's schedule page lists a last date to apply of Saturday 12 September 2026, an admission test on Sunday 13 September, results on Monday 14 September and classes from Monday 28 September 2026. It says more test dates may follow depending on seats, and does not distinguish undergraduate from graduate. BS Software Engineering starts in Spring, not Fall.
  • Spring bachelors: MAJU admits in Spring and Fall. BS Software Engineering is offered in the Spring semester only. No Spring 2027 dates are published yet, so watch the schedule page and the admissions portal.
  • Fall masters: The Fall 2026 dates on MAJU's schedule page are not split by level, so the same test dates may apply to MS applicants. Confirm with admissions@jinnah.edu.

These are the months each cycle has usually run, read from the cycle named beside them. Exact dates are announced by the university every year, so check the admissions page before you plan around them.

How merit is worked out

Bachelors (BS)

  • Previous academic recordOfficial30%

A CGPA is converted linearly to a percentage. Candidates awaiting results are scored on the latest results available; a candidate awaiting a supplementary result gets zero marks for that qualification.

  • Admission testOfficial50%
  • InterviewOfficial20%

Masters (MS or MPhil)

PhD

Who can apply

  • Bachelors (BS)

    Official +4

Minimum 50% in intermediate, DAE or A-Levels with Mathematics. Foreign qualifications need IBCC and HEC equivalence.

  • Bachelors (BS)

    Official +2

Pre-medical students can apply to BS Computer Science, and to BS AI and BS Cyber Security, but must pass 6 credit hours of deficiency Mathematics in the first two semesters. For BS AI this makes the degree 138 credit hours.

  • Masters (MS or MPhil)

    Official +3

16 years of education in computing or a related discipline, with at least 2.00 CGPA out of 4.00 verified by HEC (MS Data Science asks for 2.00 CGPA or 60%, MS Computer Science and Software Engineering for 2.00 CGPA or 50%). Deficiency courses may be required and do not count toward the MS.

  • 18 years of education in computing or a related discipline, normally an MS, with at least 3.00 out of 4.00 CGPA verified by HEC, plus an interview. Deficiency courses may be recommended.

Fees and scholarships are on the fee structure and scholarship pages. The fee page is for Fall 2026-27 and MAJU may revise fees without notice. Admissions: admissions@jinnah.edu, 0348-1116258 or 0341-0003339.

How to actually get in

  • Apply early. MAJU says seats are limited and more test dates are added only if seats remain.
  • Know your intake. BS Software Engineering is offered in the Spring semester only; the other BS programmes take students in Fall and Spring.
  • Prepare for the test. It is an essay plus 100 MCQs on verbal and quantitative reasoning. Sample papers for undergraduate and graduate programmes are on the sample papers page.
  • Merit is test-heavy. For BS and MS, the test is 50%, previous academic record 30% and the interview 20%.
  • Check scholarships before you pay. Intermediate results of 70% and above earn a tuition waiver at admission.
  • Questions? admissions@jinnah.edu, 0348-1116258 or 0341-0003339.
