I'm Tauseef Fayyaz. I lead a full-stack engineering team, working day to day alongside engineers who have built systems and sat on hiring panels at FAANG-scale companies. Most of my time goes into architecture calls, code review, and getting the engineers on my team unstuck, which is where nearly everything I share about careers actually comes from.
Leading a team taught me the part nobody writes about: the gap between engineers who progress and engineers who stall is rarely raw ability. It is scope, communication, judgement about what to build, and knowing how your work is read by the people who decide promotions. That is the material I teach.

Is Sefism free to join?
Yes, all of it. The Discord community, the company directory, the university profiles, the resources library, the blog, and the final-year project ideas are free, and so is every 1:1 session: mentorship, career guidance, LinkedIn and profile reviews, and personal branding. Sessions are for Sefism members: once your account is approved, you book them from your dashboard, and nothing is charged. Slots are limited each week because mentoring runs alongside a full-time engineering job.

Where does the company hiring information come from?
From public sources, named on every profile: careers pages, job postings, employee review platforms, salary sites, and first-hand accounts from candidates who have been through the process. Each claim carries its source and how well established it is, so you can see the difference between something a company states and something one candidate reported. Nobody pays to be listed, nothing is sponsored, and no company can buy a higher position or have a profile removed, though anything factually wrong gets corrected. Hiring processes change, so the official careers page is always the last word.
Where does the university admissions information come from?
From each university's own admissions pages and prospectus, regulators such as HEC, PEC and NCEAC, testing bodies, news reports, and students who applied and wrote in. Every admission window, entry test, merit formula, course list and fee is labelled with its source, and admission months carry the cycle they were read from, because they change every year. The companies listed as recruiting from a university are the ones a career fair list, campus drive, internship partnership or agreement names. Nobody pays to be listed, and the university's own admissions page is always the last word.
Can you refer me to a company?
You can ask, and you will get a straight answer either way. A referral only means something if the person giving it can actually speak to your work, so a request is referred where there is a contact on the inside and the profile genuinely fits the role, and declined plainly where there is not. Most requests are declined, and saying so up front is the point: a referral for a role you do not fit wastes your time and costs the contact. Where a referral is not possible, the reply says why and points at the route that does work. Nothing you send is shared with anyone without you agreeing first.
