What it is
Pomofocus is a free, customisable Pomodoro timer that works on desktop and mobile browsers. The Pomodoro Technique, created by Francesco Cirillo, splits work into focused blocks (classically 25 minutes) separated by short breaks. Pomofocus makes that easy: open the page, press start.
What you get
- A timer set to 25-minute focus sessions and 5-minute short breaks by default, with a longer break after several rounds. All lengths are adjustable.
- A task list where you add today's tasks and estimate how many pomodoros each will take (1 pomodoro = 25 minutes of work).
- An estimated finish time for the day based on your tasks.
- Reports of focus time by day, week and month with a free account.
- Premium extras such as yearly reports and CSV downloads, if you want them.
Who it suits
Students who sit down to study and end up on their phone, people who find big tasks hard to start, and anyone preparing for exams who wants to see where their hours actually go.
How to use it well
- Write the next physical action, not the whole goal: "Solve questions 1 to 5", not "Study maths".
- Phone in another room during each focus block.
- Estimate, then compare. If a task always takes double your estimate, plan for that.
- Take the breaks properly: stand up, drink water, do not scroll.
- Adjust the length. If 25 minutes is too long to start, use 15; if you are in flow, use 50.

Stuck on something specific?
Writing only gets you so far. If you want an answer to your situation rather than the general case, book a session and we will work through it together. Sessions are free for approved Sefism members, and a few slots open each week.
