Stage 1 · Lesson 4 of 8
General-purpose AI models under the Act
A general-purpose AI model is one that can do many different tasks, such as a large language model. Its (the company that trains it and places it on the market) must keep , give information to companies building on it, have a policy to respect EU copyright law and publish a summary of the content used for training.
Models with , presumed when training used more than 10^25 floating point operations, must also evaluate and red-team the model, track and report serious incidents and keep strong cybersecurity. A voluntary helps providers show compliance.
Most organisations are not providers: they build apps on someone else's model. That makes them deployers, or providers of their own system, with different duties.
Common trapcopying a model provider's obligations into an app team's checklist.
